Charlene Gamboa, MPH, is the study coordinator for the Minority Aging Research Study (MARS). Charlene comes to the RADC with six years of experience as a coordinator and program assistant for several community-based projects including a tobacco intervention study at Sinai Urban Health Institute (Mount Sinai Hospital), a pediatric physical activity study at Children's Memorial Hospital, and asthma/diabetes research at Cook County Community Health Council. She has worked with communities of color and has gained a wide range of experiences related to recruiting, relationship building with communities and stakeholders, and tracking hundreds of participants in intervention/prevention studies. She has a BS from University Of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002, and an MPH from University of Illinois at Chicago, school of public health in 2005.
