Student Nurses Association

Mission

The purpose of this organization shall be to:

  • Foster the professional development of future nurses in the College of Nursing at Rush University;
  • Serve as the pathway into the nursing profession by providing pre-licensure nursing students opportunities for leadership through volunteer experiences, networking events, and career development;
  • To assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality of healthcare;
  • To provide professional activities representative of fundamental interests and concerns to nursing students;
  • To aid in the development of the whole individual, their professional role, and their responsibility for the wellness of all people no matter age, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic stability, care or education access, disability, marital status, or lifestyle

The function of this organization shall be to:

  • Have direct input into standards of nursing education and influence the education process;
  • To influence health care, nursing education and practice through legislative activities as appropriate;
  • To promote and encourage participation in community affairs and activities towards health care and the resolution of related social issues;
  • To represent nursing students to the consumer, to institutions, and other organizations;
  • To promote and encourage students' participation in interdisciplinary activities;
  • To promote and encourage recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities;
  • To promote and encourage collaborative relationships with nursing and health related organizations
