Mission
Friends of MSF RUSH University Chapter is an affiliate student organization for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). Friends of MSF aims to raise awareness about MSF’s medical humanitarian impact and serve as an educational resource for students interested in pursuing a career in global health. We host speaker events, volunteer opportunities, and participate in national MSF conferences. Our marquee event is a biannual mapathon through the Missing Maps Project, an initiative created by humanitarian aid organizations like MSF to map out remote locations around the world. By mapping out underserved regions using basic satellite imagery, we help medical aid workers respond more effectively to emergencies like disease outbreaks and natural disasters. Our goal is to not only learn about the complexities of global health but to find meaningful ways to take action.
