Our clinical programs provide care across of a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, community and hospital-based. We emphasize a holistic approach that recognizes the needs of children, adolescents & families.
Our training program is one of the strongest in the Midwest with dedicated inpatient experiences, rich outpatient clinics, collaborative care, and community & school consultation.
With the only subspecialty center for autism spectrum disorders in Chicago, AARTS provides an important site from which children & families can get the best evidence-based care.
Our faculty have been success in developing research programs in autism, substance use disorders, early onset psychosis, veteran families, homeless youth, and collaborative care.
The Section of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at RUSH University Medical Center is one of the best research and training programs in the Midwest. With one of the largest child psychiatry faculties, the section houses rich clinical programs and some of the fastest growing and most innovative research in the country.
The section has current funding from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Drug Abuse, Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration and the State of Illinois. These resources allow the section to support training programs in child AND adolescent psychiatry, psychology, nursing and medical student education.
