Louis Kraus, MD, is the professor and chief of child and adolescent psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. He is the founding director of the Autism Assessment, Research, Treatment and Services Center (AARTS Center). He received his MD in 1987 from Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at Northwestern University and Fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Chicago where he served as the director of child and adolescent forensic psychiatry, the assistant director of inpatient psychiatry and was an assistant professor. From there, Kraus had an appointment of assistant professor at Northwestern University and was Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for Northshore University Health Services. He arrived at Rush University Medical Center in 2002 as an associate professor and as the Woman’s Board Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Rosario Cosme-Cruz, MD, is the Program Director for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program at Rush. In addition, she’s also the Medical Director, Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Director, Outpatient Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD) clinic and Director for the Anxiety and Affective Disorders clinic and Pediatric Consultation Liaison Program.
As of August 2023, is the newly appointed Associate Program Director for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program at Rush. Bishoy Goubran, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He serves as the director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consult liaison services and is an emergency psychiatry attending. Additionally, Goubran is the Associate Program Director for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program at Rush.
Jon Goldner, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. At Rush, Goldner works in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic seeing patients and teaching. In this clinic, he directs the Predoctoral Clinical Psychology Externship and supervises Postdoctoral Fellows in Clinical Psychology. He also provides supervision to Child Psychiatry Fellows in their therapy experience, generally, and on their rotation doing trauma focused work in the community at the YMCA. In addition, he serves as Associate Clinical Director for Children and Families at Road Home: The National Center for Excellence for Veterans and Their Families. Before coming to Rush, Goldner worked in a variety of outpatient settings focused on helping to reduce emotional distress and behavioral difficulties in children and adolescents, many of who had experienced trauma and loss. He received his doctorate degree from Loyola University Chicago, with a specialization in children and families, and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.
Elizabeth Harari, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is the Director of the Toddler, Infant, Pre-School, School Age (TIPS) clinic. She also collaborates and works at various community health centers across the city including Esperanza Health and The Josselyn Center. Her interests and focus include early childhood interventions and working with children with developmental disabilities. She enjoys supervising child and adolescents psychiatric fellows as well as adult psychiatric residents.
Rekha Kasi, DO, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She primarily works in the outpatient setting and also supervises the fellows in the Affective and Anxiety Disorders Clinic (AADC) and supervises residents in their third-year outpatient clinic. She serves as the Course Director for the medical student Child Psychiatry elective and an Assistant Clerkship Director for the Psychiatry clerkship. Fellows work closely with students on the Child Psychiatry elective. Kasi did her Child Psychiatry fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, Psychiatry residency at Loyola University Chicago and medical school at Midwestern University.
Lisa Yeh, MD, is the Medical Director of the Autism Assessment, Research, Treatment, Services (AARTS) Center at Rush. She is board certified in both general adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She specializes in the treatment of neuropsychiatric disease associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), genetic and other neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) including interdisciplinary treatment planning and advanced medication management. She is a nationally and internationally known writer and speaker dedicated to working with the NDD population, their families and finding ways to improve treatment options and outreach. Yeh comes to us from the Pediatric Developmental Center at Advocate IL Masonic Hospital where her focus has predominately been the clinical treatment of children with developmental disabilities and ASD. In addition to her clinical work, she served as interim, site medical director. She is also the Director of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic at Rush. She enjoys teaching and supervising developmental behavioral pediatric and child and adolescent psychiatry fellows as well as general adult psychiatry residents and medical students from a number of institutions. Additionally, she is a co-founder of the LGBTQ+ Mental Health Clinic at Rush. She endeavors to advocate for at risk populations through direct patient care, research, teaching and outreach. She completed her training for general adult psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and medical school at University of IL at Chicago.
Catherine Byrne, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. She received her doctorate from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. At Rush, she is involved in the pediatric consultation-liaison service, individual and group therapy for children and adolescents, brief psychological assessments for children and adolescents, and supervision of clinical psychology externs and child psychiatry fellows. Byrne is particularly interested in the treatment of child and adolescent eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders.
Sonya Mohan, DO, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Mohan’s primary focus is on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, she holds the position of Clinical Director of Rush’s Eating Disorder Clinic. Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Mohan enjoys mentoring medical students, residents and fellows and is the Outpatient Psychiatry Site Director for medical students. Mohan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and successfully completed her medical school training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. She completed her residency training in General Psychiatry at University Hospital in Tamarac, Florida. Mohan completed her Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Illinois, Chicago. During her senior year of fellowship, she assumed the role of Chief Fellow, and was the recipient of the Fellow of the Year Award within the Psychiatry Department.
