The department of anesthesiology is implementing a departmental organizational plan to handle the various adjustments in all of our functional domains. Going forward, all questions, ideas, suggestions and newly identified problems should be directed to those individuals assigned to the relevant domain. This will facilitate orderly and efficient handling of the numerous ongoing issues and challenges we are facing now and for the foreseeable future.
The departmental website will serve as the common posting ground for departmental information relative to COVID matters, but please continue to check your Rush email so that you get the messages coming from the Rush command center, which are our sources of truth.
Please know that Rush leadership strongly weighs the guidance and policies set by the CDC and other health care experts across the country and the world. Rush considers these inputs and the science behind them, but the final decisions are made through the lens of what is best for Rush.
Checking for these updates from Rush should be done at least every morning and evening, because things are changing rapidly. What is true today may not be what we are advising tomorrow. At the departmental level we will work hard to message changes via email and our website as quickly as possible, and may use other forms of rapid communication as needed.
The department of Anesthesiology has enacted a strategic plan for COVID-19. Please see this link for the command structure and section contacts: Department of Anesthesiology organizational plan for COVID 19. v2.0
