Our Third Year Fellow

Name	Background
Image Sasha Amiri, MD, MS	Sasha completed his undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada and medical school at Saba University School of Medicine, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Dr. Amiri completed his residency at the University of Buffalo, NY and then started his neonatal-perinatal fellowship training at Rush. He is the Senior Regional Fellow for TECaN (Trainees and Early Career Neonatologists), which is a sub-section of the AAP Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Sasha’s hometown is Toronto Canada, and in his spare time he is an amateur astronomer.

Image Jiwon Lee Wang, MD	Jiwon completed her medical training at the Seoul National University College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. She then worked as a research coordinator at Northwestern University Medical Center and at University of Illinois Chicago. She completed her pediatrics residency at Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. In her free time, Jiwon enjoys watching shows, doing Pilates and traveling.
Image Sruti Uppuluri, MD	Sruti completed her undergraduate education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she studied biochemistry and biophysics. She attended medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada and completed her pediatrics resident at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. Sruti is a certified yoga instructor, and in her spare time she enjoys running along Lake Michigan, practicing Indian classical dance, cooking, and reading thriller novels.

Image Hani Rustom, DO	Hani completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Biochemistry, Biology) and his medical education at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In his spare time Hani enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Image Yixin "John" Xu, DO	"John" completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Integrative Biology). He worked as a teacher for children, adolescents and young adults with extraordinary need, and then went on to compete his medical education at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern. He completed his Pediatrics residency at Loyola University Medical Center.
