Overview
The Rush University website has multiple menus that enable visitors to navigate the site and locate information.
Most of these menus have been developed according to research and UX principles, and their content stays the same on every page of the site. These menus cannot be edited by content editors. If you believe a change to one of these menus is necessary, you can contact the website administrator, who will work with you to consider the strategic goals your request would accomplish and decide whether to precede.
The header of the website contains multiple menus, which appear on every page and cannot be changed by content editors.
The footer menu of the website also appears on every page and cannot be changed by content editors.
Sidebar menu
On most pages of the website, a menu appears that enables visitors to navigate between pages within that content section.
On desktop and laptop devices, this menu appears to the left of the page, so it is referred to as the sidebar menu.
As a content editor, you will manage the sidebar menus that appear on your web pages. You can edit links, add new links as new pages are built, and delete links when pages are removed from your sections of the website.
How to build or update a menu
The new sidebar menu was introduced to the website in fall 2024. Because this is a new feature, we have not yet provided training for you on how to build or update menus.
Training will be forthcoming shortly, in winter 2024-25.
Until menu training has been shared, please contact the website administrator when any changes to a menu are required.
