Our Approach

Accomplished faculty

Our expert faculty practice what they teach as physicians at Rush University Medical Center, a top-tier academic medical center.

Your professor may teach you about ventricular arrhythmia one day and implant a cardioverter defibrillator the next.

Community service, global health and health equity

We have a longstanding commitment to community engagement, global health and health equity.

Our students are a significant part of our efforts. You learn to develop patient relationships and work in teams while providing services to communities in need.

Diversity

You will have diverse experiences beyond the classroom. Our clinical rotations, community service opportunities and student groups foster inclusive environments.

And our location on the West Side provides chances to interact with patients from various backgrounds.

Research opportunities

You can pursue exciting research opportunities at Rush, which is at the leading edge of clinical-, basic science- and community-based research.

We have more than 150 research grants from the National Institutes of Health. Our investigators are involved in more than 1,600 projects, including hundreds of clinical trials.

We recognize that it’s important to be mindful of your well-being as you navigate the complexities of medical school.

Learn about tuition and financial aid at Rush University

More than 80 percent of Rush Medical College students receive financial assistance.

Financial aid is awarded based on financial need (cost of education less student and family resources). The difference is met with both grant and loan assistance.

Grant aid is based on parent information, regardless of whether you are independent, married or single.

Students who are at least 30 years old by the program start date do not need to submit parent information. You will still receive full consideration for need-based discretionary aid.

We provide information on how to apply for financial assistance once you are accepted.
