Rush’s Department of Pathology offers patients and physicians a wide range of advanced diagnostic and consultative services. We operate one of the busiest clinical laboratories in the Midwest. The department performs more than 1,000 different procedures, including molecular, genetic and advanced cancer diagnostics.
Our department provides services at Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center as well as our affiliated suburban locations: Rush Oak Park Hospital, Riverside Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center. Our respected subspecialists collaborate with clinical teams to diagnose, characterize and treat a wide range of diseases — both common and rare — including those related to the breast, skin, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, female reproductive system, blood, brain, head and neck. Our department is also home to a large number of clinical specialists in molecular genetics, flow cytometry, microbiology and clinical chemistry.
This stimulating environment provides medical students and the department's postgraduate residents with a rich and extensive academic experience in all areas of anatomic pathology. The department is also the primary clinical site for Rush University’s medical technology program, which offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
