Anatomy & Cell Biology Education Offerings

The Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology has a rich history of teaching excellence in the anatomical sciences. Anatomy is a cornerstone of medical education that provides a foundation of knowledge on which clinical practice is built. Our faculty greatly value the importance of this subject matter and always strive to deliver clinically oriented curricula. The table below offers a sampling of the many courses and diverse student population we serve.

Training opportunities

Principal investigators in the department are currently performing research in the general areas of cancer (Borgia, Duan, Maki, Pratap), musculoskeletal biology (Ross, Sumner, Virdi), movement disorders (O’Keefe), and medical education (Williams, Wilson). In almost all cases, the research is multi-disciplinary and involves researchers in multiple departments.

Periodically, post-doctoral fellowships are available in the laboratories of Sumner, Virdi, Maki, Pratap, and O’Keefe. If you are interested in a post-doctoral position, please contact the faculty member directly or send an email to Anatomy_&_Cell_Biology_inquiries@rush.edu

Pre-doctoral training occurs at the M.S. and Ph.D. levels through programs administered in the Graduate College. Departmental faculty serve as primary advisors. It is always wise to communicate with specific faculty members as early in your training as possible, including before applying. Current students interested in performing a research rotation should contact faculty members directly.
