Residency Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the residency in urologic surgery at RUSH University Medical Center. Our program accepts three residents per year from medical schools across the country. The residency program participates in the American Association of Medical Colleges electronic residency application system (ERAS). Alongside ERAS, our program utilizes Thalamus to schedule applicants, send notifications and message applicants about interview details.  All applicants must use this method to apply to our residency program.

Application Requirements

  • Photograph
  • Personal statement
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Minimum of 3 letters of recommendation (maximum of 4). We encourage the use of the AOA Standardized Letter of Recommendation
  • United States Medical Licensing Exam Step 1 score (USMLE)

Apart from the ERAS requirements (listed above), no supplemental information is required. Applicants must be graduates of a Liaison Committee on Medical Education-accredited program. We do not sponsor visas.

Resident Selection

The final selection and ranking is conducted by the Residency Selection Committee. Residents are selected on the basis of their academic accomplishments and personal character.
