Pediatric Residency

The pediatric residency program at Rush University offers outstanding training in pediatrics, preparing graduates to successfully practice in primary care, begin a hospitalist career, or obtain a competitive fellowship. You’ll build a strong clinical and research foundation in a friendly and collegial, yet academically challenging environment. Our mid-sized program is small enough that our residents transition quickly to feeling part of the Rush family.

We transitioned to an X+Y+Z scheduling in 2024, which allows residents to have dedicated inpatient and elective time during X and Y blocks. On Z blocks residents have continuity clinic, subspecialty clinics, an academic half day, and protected weekday time off.  This also allows residents to have longitudinal rotations including advocacy, behavioral and mental health, and medical education. Residents love this new schedule and we anticipate that it will positively affect both wellness and education. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
