Welcome from our Program Director

Welcome to the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center! We are delighted to introduce our Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency Program. RUSH has a strong tradition of plastic surgery training, as one of the oldest fellowship programs in the country, which traditionally followed an independent pathway. However, in 2020 we transitioned to the integrated training model, and currently accept 2 residents per year through the NRMP match process. Our positions are ACMGE approved, and training combines both RUSH University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital.

From the first year of residency, residents will spend a substantial amount of time on plastic surgery rotations and will be exposed to a solid foundation of core surgery and surgical subspecialties required to be eligible for the American Board of Plastic Surgery certification.

Starting from the PGY-3 year, residents will participate in an apprenticeship type rotation model, where they will be exposed to a wide variety of complex reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

The Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency program at RUSH offers a strong clinical foundation with ample opportunity for professional development in a collegial environment.
