Your 'patient' and learning tools
At the RUSH Center for Clinical Skills and Simulation (RCCSS), actual hospital treatment rooms and patients are mimicked in fine detail. This allows professionals and students the opportunity to refine skills in a safe environment that replicates real-world conditions.
You will work with high-fidelity manikins that have heartbeats, breathe, and respond to treatment. All physiologic parameters can be adjusted to accurately portray the scenario in fine clinical detail.
Manikins are available across the age spectrum, encompassing premature infants to adults. Specialized adult manikins are capable of reflecting the processes of intubation, anesthetic administration, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and labor and delivery.
Clinical task trainers allow you to practice various skills, including surgical procedures, airway management, IV placement, CPR, catheter and arterial line placements, ultrasound technique, and more.
A web-supported audiovisual system allows you to carefully record and review your work.
Real-world tools include ultrasound equipment, medication dispensing stations and the same clinical communications system found in Rush's hospital building.
