Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residents receive benefits from both the Department of Graduate Medical Education as well as from the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center.

  • Annual (academic year) education stipend of $2000 for PGY-2 residents and above, and $1500 for PGY-1 residents

The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center also provides several resources to our residents to enhance their educational experiences.

  • American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Membership including subscriptions to  Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Scientific Journal, Plastic Surgery News (PSN), and Plastic Surgery Education Network (PSEN)
  • Travel funds for those presenting a podium presentation at major meetings
  • Travel fund to plastic surgery boot camps and courses based on PGY level
  • Opportunities for elective rotations as a senior level resident
