Thank you for your interest in the Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency program at Rush University Medical Center. The program accepts two residents per year from medical schools across the world. All applicants must use the Plastic Surgery Central Application (PSCA) to apply to our residency program.
Application Requirements and Deadline
- Photograph
- Personal statement
- Dean’s Letter
- Medical School Transcript
- Minimum of 3 letters of recommendation (maximum of 4). We encourage the use of the AOA Standardized Letter of Recommendation
- United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) transcript
Apart from the PSCA requirements (listed above), no supplemental information is required. Applicants must be graduates of a Liaison Committee on Medical Education-accredited program. We do not sponsor applicants requiring a J-1 visa. The PSCA application deadline is September 15, 2024.
Resident Selection
The final selection and ranking is conducted by the Residency Selection Committee. Residents are selected on the basis of their academic accomplishments and personal character. You will be notified by Thalamus scheduler if you are selected for an interview. The majority of invitations will be sent at the beginning of November. An invitation to interview does not guarantee a spot, so please schedule in Thalamus promptly. Interviews will be held on December 11, 2024 and January 31, 2025 with an opportunity for applicants to meet the faculty and current residents in-person.

RUSH offers a competitive salary and full benefits. You can learn more about residents' benefits here.
