Doctor of Audiology (AuD) Curriculum

Program Objectives

Our Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program provides professional education and training in speech-language pathology and audiology. 

The curriculum is enhanced by the opportunities, resources and facilities provided by a world-class academic medical center. 

In addition to didactic and clinical activities, you participate in journal clubs, rounds and student-faculty development sessions. And you are encouraged to participate in research with our faculty. 

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, student will:

  • Demonstrate advanced problem solving/critical thinking competencies by passing comprehensive exams in the four content areas.
  • Attain a Level 3 on all core clinical professional skills as assessed by the Record of Skill Performance.
  • Achieve a rating of 4 (Proficient) or 5 (Independent) on a minimum of 75% of all rated clinical skills as measured by the Clinical Evaluation of Students.
  • Exhibit competent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by successful completion of the Investigative Project.
  • Demonstrate improved cultural competence as measured by the Diversity Awareness Profile (DAP) via pre and post measurement.
  • Demonstrate analytic and integration skills by successful completion of the comprehensive Formative Assessment Inventory.

Graduation Requirements

You must meet the following requirements in order to graduate: 

  • A cumulative academic GPA of 3.0 or greater 
  • Successful completion of the comprehensive examination 
  • Complete an investigative project 
  • Pass the PRAXIS

Requirements for the degree must be completed within eight years of the beginning of your first term.
