Rush University Earns High Marks in Latest Rankings

Programs in College of Nursing and College of Health Sciences reinforce commitment to academic excellence through 2024-25 U.S. News & World Report rankings

 

Rush University is highlighted once again as a top academic institution after U.S. News & World Report released its latest Best Graduate Schools rankings.

This year’s rankings feature programs from across Rush University’s College of Nursing and College of Health Sciences. Both continue to prove to be leaders in health care education with multiple programs ranked in the top five and top ten.

Higgins, MD, MSHA, president and chief academic officer, Rush University and chief clinical and academic officer and senior vice president, Rush University System for Health. “The success of these programs as represented in these rankings is notable but is also the product of the extraordinary commitment of our faculty, staff and students. Their commitment to a lifelong journey of learning and improving the health of our patients and communities through research and training the next generation of health care leaders will have a profound impact on Rush University and its success now and in the future.”

The College of Nursing remains one of the top ranked nursing schools in the country. All six of the traditionally ranked Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) tracks are in the top five nationally and No. 1 in Illinois. 

The rankings are as follows:

The Generalist Entry Master’s program was also ranked as the No. 34 program in the country and No. 2 in Illinois. The nurse anesthesia program was ranked No. 26 in the peer-only ranking.

College of Health Sciences programs see top rankings

This year, the College of Health Sciences saw four programs ranked by U.S. News, including one program in the top five and one in the top 10. This year’s rankings showed that CHS continues to be a leader in the health care management education through its Health Systems Management (HSM) Program.

The CHS programs ranked this year were:

“Though all of our programs cannot be ranked, for the programs that are, we are grateful to be recognized by our peers nationally,” says Jason Turner, PhD, MAE, interim dean, College of Health Sciences. “Across the College of Health Sciences, we continue to strive for success measured by our outstanding curriculums, our student outcomes, the success of our graduates, and our dedicated faculty and staff. As we approach another graduation, it also brings us pride to welcome the next group of colleagues into health care.”

Rush Medical College recognized in research category

Along with the university’s nursing and health sciences programs, Rush Medical College was also recognized by U.S. News for its research. This year, the medical college moved up to tier 2 in the U.S. News research rankings category.
