Dear colleagues,

Building on five decades of excellence, the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine brings together clinicians, scholars, and scientists in the pursuit of excellence in patient care, research, and education. Our faculty are dedicated to improving the lives of patients with lung diseases, sleep disorders and the critically ill. Our mission is to deliver outstanding, state-of-the-art patient care, to develop new knowledge, and to train the next generation of clinicians, scholars, and leaders in the field. By being at the forefront of integrating pioneering, disease-related research into clinical practice and providing outstanding world-class care to our patients, we ensure our fellows and residents acquire the necessary skills to develop novel approaches to understanding and managing diseases through basic science, clinical, and outcomes research. Over our history, the Division has had a prominent role in the overall educational mission of the Department of Internal Medicine. Our faculty have received numerous accolades for their educational prowess and several of them serve in major leadership roles within the educational and administrative programs at RUSH. Our outstanding comprehensive care has helped advance the RUSH Lung Center to earn a position among the top hospitals in Pulmonology and Lung Surgery in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Patient care is provided and overseen by over 30 faculty and 14 advanced practice providers at Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and Rush Specialty Hospital. Our faculty oversee three ACGME-accredited fellowships in Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship with 4 fellows per year (total of 12 fellows), Sleep Medicine fellowship with 2 fellows per year, and Critical Care fellowship with 2 fellows per year (total of 4 fellows).

It is my honor to lead such a talented group of clinicians and scholars. I invite you to learn more about our division’s clinical care, education and research through our website.
