  • Sonal Agrawal, PhD, is a research neuropathologist with the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center and an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology, Rush University Medical Center. Agrawal received her PhD in neuroscience from the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, India with a specialization in neurotoxicity and completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship and Instructorship in Neuropathology at the RADC. Her areas of interest include neuropathology of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, cerebrovascular disease, neuroinflammation, and cognition. She is also focused on developing new methods for the quantification of neuropathologic measures. In addition to her research efforts, she provides the neuropathology diagnosis for brains received from longitudinal clinical pathologic studies of aging and is involved in various educational activities.
