Katherine (Kate) M. Schafer, DNP, APRN, PCNS-BC, CNL, CCRN, CHSE, NE-BC is a teacher/practitioner certified as a pediatric clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse leader, pediatric acute/critical-care nurse, healthcare simulation educator, and nurse executive. Her clinical background is in pediatric critical-care and camp health, with special interest and expertise in congenital heart disease, family presence during resuscitation, bioethics, and simulation. Schafer teaches in the prelicensure MSN/CNL and DNP programs and collaborates on several interprofessional simulation projects.
