Juan Schmukler, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and completed his internal medicine training at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where he also served as Chief Resident. His Rheumatology training was completed at Rush University Medical Center, where he joined as a faculty member in 2022.

Schmukler has a wide range of clinical interests and sees patients with all rheumatic diseases. He joined the Rush faculty in pursuit of a clinical investigator track, his areas of interest being patient outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the influence of comorbidities and socioeconomic factors in measures of RA disease activity. He has authored publications with other members of the faculty and presented research findings at the American College of Rheumaotlogy (ACR) national meetings.

Schmukler is fluent in Spanish.
