  • David X. Marquez, PhD, is a visiting associate professor with the RUSH Alzheimer’s Disease Center and is an Associate Professor of kinesiology and nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Loyola University Chicago and his PhD in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

    His research focuses on disparities in physical activity and disease/disability among older Latinos, including examining the factors that influence the incidence and prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease among older Latinos. Marquez has published extensively on lifestyle behaviors of older Latinos and also profiles of risk and disease in aging among Latinos. He has received numerous honors and awards for his work, including Fellow status of the Gerontological Society of America, Society of Behavioral Medicine and American College of Sports Medicine.
