Residents are the heart and soul of our Department of Internal Medicine. Over the course of their training, our residents develop incredible relationships with patients, colleagues and mentors. Residents who choose to train at RUSH will find themselves in a place that cares about their personal and professional needs. Benefits
- House staff receive an educational stipend of $1,500 (interns) or $2,000 (seniors) directly on their paycheck in one lump sum.
- House staff receive a technology stipend of $600 per year to help cover work-related expenses associated with personal cell phones and mobile devices.
- House staff receive a stipend of $1,200 per year for meals, added to their paychecks in four quarterly payments.
- Annual stipend for study material, conferences and academic activities
- All full-time employees receive $1,000 through the Enhancement Program each calendar year. The Enhancement Program reimburses 90% of eligible expenses such as conference registrations and memberships and 100% for study material/required exams.
- Residents may apply for DOIM Scholarship Funds to cover conference travel related expenses. Residents are eligible to receive up to $1,000 each AY.
- House staff are eligible for up to six weeks of paid parental leave. Vacation may be used to extend leave.
- Rush matches 403(b) contributions for house staff
