Preclinical Catheterization Laboratory Technology

The Rush Preclinical Catheterization Laboratory offers the latest technology and equipment for conducting research in a newly renovated facility, including the following:

Surgical equipment

  • Fluoroscopy unit fully motorized with angiography capability and also includes special custom profiles for cardiac, orthopedic and spinal imaging. The C-ARM offers a fully digital image chain, with state-of-the-art digital image enhancement, as well as digital archival capability.
  • Operating table fully motorized, which allows the physician researcher to perform procedures efficiently with less staff and great precision
  • Steris lighting
  • Hemodynamics monitoring system
  • Gas-anesthesia machine station with vaporizer
  • Heartstart XL biphasi defibrillator
  • Power injector
  • Echocardiography machine
  • Ultrasound imaging machine
  • Alaris infusion pump
  • Bair Hugger

Supplemental technology

  • Seven flat-panel LCD monitors
  • In-suite cameras for recording, broadcasting, and audio/microphone capabilities for two-way secure communication between lab and an external audience
