The Breast Imaging Fellowship at RUSH University Medical Center is a one-year, non-accredited clinical fellowship program. Our Fellowship program offers specialized training in breast imaging, exposure to state-of-the-art technology, and mentorship and collaboration with renowned faculty.

Program Overview

The fellowship is rotational-based with rotations in the following areas:

  • Screening mammography and automated breast ultrasound (ABUS)
  • Diagnostic mammography and ultrasound
  • Prone and upright tomosynthesis/stereotactic biopsies and ultrasound biopsies
  • Breast MRI and MRI biopsies
  • SAVI SCOUT® and wire localizations
  • Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) and CEM-guided biopsies

Additional areas of focus include:

  • Active participation in multidisciplinary breast conferences
  • Presenting at quality control conferences (case presentations, grand rounds, journal club and presentation of their research)
  • Discussion of management strategies, treatment planning, and follow-up recommendations
  • Collaborative learning and integration of different perspectives in breast care decision-making including spending time with other disciplines such as pathology, surgery, and radiation oncology
  • Participate in reading 2nd opinion Interpretation of Outside Exams (IOEs)
