Program Objectives
Our Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Sciences program prepares you for advanced learning in health sciences.
We accomplish this by providing immersive and interprofessional experiences in a diverse setting.
We believe our students have a strong desire to improve the health of their communities.
We are committed to creating an environment where students become critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers and self-directed learners.
These tenets are woven throughout the BS in Health Sciences curriculum and educational experience.
Graduation Requirements
Two years of upper-division coursework are required to complete the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program.
Upper-division course work consists of core courses required of all students, as well as elective courses.
We offer two concentrations, though students are not required to choose one to complete the program:
- Leadership and community wellness
- Medical sciences
You must complete a minimum of 60 credit hours of upper-division coursework to graduate:
- At least 27 credit hours in the required core
- At least 33 credit hours of courses approved by an academic adviser
You must also complete 16 hours of community service.

Electives can be taken from either of the two concentrations. Courses must be approved by your academic adviser and the program director, and they should correspond with your career goals.
You work with an adviser to develop an individualized plan of study based on your academic goals.
