What is CAPriCORN?

Chicago Area Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Network, or CAPriCORN, is a partnership between healthcare and research institutions, patients, patient advocates, clinicians, community-based organizations (CBOs) and non-profits committed to enabling and delivering patient centered clinical research. These institutes have joined together to find ways of improving health care while focusing on issues affecting people living in and around Chicago. These health conditions include dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and asthma. This research network is also working on several other studies including National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C), PREVENTABLE, and the Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI).

CAPriCORN’s mission is to develop, test, and implement policies and programs designed to improve health care quality, health outcomes, and health equity for the diverse populations of Chicagoland and beyond.
